“I first began seeing Hannah in October of 2019. I have been struggling with depression and anxiety since childhood and I am now in my mid thirties. I take medication for these conditions with mixed results. I had recently undergone several major life changes – 3 job transitions (mostly by circumstances out of my control), moving cities (also not my idea) and I was truly struggling. I felt miserable but determined to change that, since I could see it affecting my marriage, which is typically a source of happiness. I felt trapped in my industry and I was struggling to see a way out, I would describe my main vibe as hopeless.
I found Hannah through happenstance on Facebook. I was drawn to the concept of “thrive rather than just survive” because I truly had no plan. Every day I felt as though I was putting one foot in front of the other in what had become an out-of-control stumble through life. I emailed immediately and then, to give myself accountability, texted a few friends “I might hire a life coach. WHO AM I lol”.
And then, Hannah helped to find who I was. I am a boss. I am a leader. I am a confident, fun, supportive person who was not using ANY of those traits to their full potential due to fear. I had boxed myself into a tinier and tinier way of life and feeling based solely around minimizing my discomfort with any emotions and any big responsibilities.
It may interest you for me to list my accomplishments since beginning coaching a year and a half ago and I will do so now: I left my job I did not like, I got one I did like AND returned to school after 10 years away. I began volunteering with groups I have been passionate about and am now assuming leadership roles. I am more available to my friends, family and most importantly: to myself. I have the space to feel multiple things at once and to absorb and address events in a much more appropriate way than constant panic. I would describe my anxiety and depression as being in remission. I still take the medicine, but I have never felt as good in my adult life as I do now.
Do you need to make changes? Do you need to bounce your life off someone who WILL get you to step out of your comfort zone and get you to really reconnect with the experience of living and feeling joy in life? With the experience of feeling a purpose and serving that purpose?
I cannot recommend Hannah highly enough to you. But I can try! She helped me change my life. Let her help you change yours.
“I am very pleased to be able to recommend Hannah Vanderheyden at Modern Coaching. I initially hired Hannah to help me develop a business plan to expand my Speech Therapy practice. I thought it would be good to have someone to keep me focused, organized and on task. Hannah did much more than that. Hannah helped me tap into a level of creativity that I had previously accessed for brief periods, but would get out of as soon as the details started to bog me down. Hannah has a talent for keeping me in that creative state and allowing that creativity to flourish without losing focus. The ideas that came out of my mind while in that state have formed the basis of a new chapter in the development of my practice which has already improved my income by 25% in the first year, and shows promise go much further than that over the next few years. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see my income more than double by the end of this year. Interestingly, it is not the increase in income that excites me, but the joy of creating something that people genuinely need and appreciate. The increase in income is certainly very welcome, but now seems secondary to the joy of creating something that families really need. What Hannah provides will not only help your business but your life in general”.
